Day 4 Ohio Trip Saturday July 19, 2008

Saturday, July 19, 2008.

Today my mommy, daddy and I started preparing for Adams Christening. (Really grandma Denise & Grandpa Bob did all the work) We first went to Jungle Jims (a store that has everything you can think of) to pick up Adams Christening cake and Kristins birthday cake. We went to three different stores in search of flowers to put on the tables and Krogers finally had what mommy was looking for. Our next stop was to Hallmark to pick up gifts for the Godparents. By this time I was done shopping and very hungry, luckily I saw the big BLUE S sign (Skyline); and who could resist a big cheese coney? The rest of the day I spent swimming in the pool. Be sure to check out the swimming video at the bottom of the page!I love this place but I think my mom and dad love it even more. They can't resist the Skyline 4 way!
Yum, yum, yum! This is the best cheese coney ever! They really piled on the cheese this time.

Pool and counting fun!

Day 5 Part 1 Adams Baptisim Sunday, July 20, 2008

Today is the day we have all been waiting for... I am being Christened! Before I begin, I am going to give you a brief family history lesson that will explain why today is so special!

Family History FH101

1. In 1899 my Great, Great, Great Grandmother Agnes McAuley lived in Scotland and hand made a christening gown for her son James McAuley .
2. James McAuley is my Great, Great Grandfather. He was born on June 20, 1899 and was baptised at St. Mongos Church in Glasgoiv Scotland, in the christening gown his mother Agnes made.
3. My Great Grandmother Diane Leesman is the daughter of James McAuley and she was also christened in the gown, as well as her brother.
4. My Grandma Denise Meyer was christened in the gown as well as her bothers and sisters. Which would include my Great uncle Don, Great Aunt Debbie, Great Uncle David, Great Aunt Danette and my Great Uncle Denny (who is my sisters godfather)!
5. My mommy Jennifer Chorak was also christened in the gown, as well a her brothers. Which would be my Uncle Greg and Uncle Andrew.
6. My sister Sarah Marie Chorak was christened in the gown as well.
7. I Adam Robert Chorak was christened in the gown on July 20, 2008 by Father Mark at St. Johns Church in Ohio.

So as you can see this hand made christening gown is a 109 years old, has been passed down through five generations and fourteen people have worn it (that we know of)!

Enjoy the photos, videos and captions!

Day 6 Ohio Trip Continues Monday, July 21, 2008

Monday, July 21, 2008
Today my parents canoed down the Miami river. Sorry, there are no photos of their adventure. Mommy did not want to take the camera because she thought daddy would tip the canoe, which would mean bye, bye camera; and mommy can't live without her camera! While my parents canoed, I spent the day with grandma and baby Adam. We went to my grandmas work to visit all her friends. I enjoyed all the attention I received. Once mommy and daddy returned from their trip, daddy made a nice dinner and I had a special desert from the Good Humor Ice Cream Truck. I really enjoyed my big red, white and blue popsicle.

Dau 7 Tuesday, July 22nd Our Last Day In Ohio

Tuesday, July 22, 2208
Today, is our last day in Ohio so we are going to make the best of it! I finally met my godmother Meghan and she is so cool for being my second cousin! Meghan looks great for just arriving home from Australia and New Zealand. She is so lucky because she had the opportunity to see and hear the Pope speak during her trip. You would never know she was sleep deprived and ready for a can free meal!Today is the day I have been waiting for since we arrived! I finally get my hands on a White Castle. Great-Grandpa Jim and daddy treated me to a nice greasy, cheeseburger, of course without onions. Now I understand why everyone in Ohio raves about these mini burgers. Can I have another one? That is right I ate two!
GO REDS! Grandpa works with a very nice lady who has season tickets to the REDS games. So, Grandpa, daddy and mommy headed out to the new ball park. Mom raved about the seats because they sat in the lower deck between home plate and first base. Daddy finally got his hands on a Montgomery Inn barbecue sandwich. Baby Adam and I were making our own home runs with grandma back at her house! Oh I almost forgot... the Reds won after going into extra innings! GO CINCINNATI REDS!
Five rows up from home plate and first base!
Mom thinks GRIFFEY rocks but the REDS must not think like mommy because they are trading him. In the audiance you will see a guy wearing a yellow/orage hat. take a guess who he is? Yep, that is right Pete Rose! He was being honored during the game.
We finally made it home! I never knew traveling could be so exhausting!
